over here, too, many orders and rules get messed up and cause anger and confusion, e.g. huge fines imposed on Covid-positive persons for not observing stay-at-home quarantine, while these persons swear they have never left their homes, to name just one..

As Keith says, our Prime Minister's evil genius flouted the rules, and says he's done nothing wrong. Few people share his view: a junior minister has resigned, giving logical and cogent reasons for doing so, because he can't face his constituents who have followed the rules when Cummings did not. Some have lost family members and did not have the chance to say goodbye...

Face masks in a restaurant, surreal. But we live in strange times. Here you cannot get your hair cut but it is apparently OK to drive 250 miles for a babysitter (even if your parents-in-law live two streets away), or to take your child out for a 60 mile drive in order to test your eyesight.
It is a strange country just now. We in Scotland are on a different wavelength from England. We still are self-isolating and not allowed to go very far from your house, unlike certain English people. There is some relief this Friday when we can now venture a bit further (suggestion 20 miles)
It seems you have the same problem Oliver, with the head people thinking they know better than the rest. Do not get me going!

And I think about us here, Oliver....if we had a leader, a president who is a uniter.....the outcome in the US could have been very different. He is as divider in a time we need just the opposite.

At times I think I live a dream... At the bank I was forced to put an antiseptic in my hands as soon as I entered, while I was holding money. "Is what I'm holding clean?" I asked them, but got no answer. They waited for me to put on the antiseptic to let me go. Obviously for the banks the cleanest thing is the money...
