Brekkie Time

By Joeblowfromoz
Had the best time yesterday exploring the Great Australian Bight, and hope to share a few with you soon, but for today I just had to show you this one, of this young pelican, helping himself to brekkie. You can't believe the noise he was making, and was just unreal walking amongst this group of pelicans without them showing the slightest interest.

The coastline along this part of Australia is like something I have never seen before and hope to share some photos soon, but this next few weeks crossing the bight - our internet will be bit hap hazard, so will only be able to connect occassisonally, but look forward to catching you all up real soon.

Just out of interest, the price of fuel crossing the Nullabor, for unleaded is somewhere between $1.84 and $2.02, Diesel is $1.78 and $2.22 and gas is $$0.95 and $1.21
So at those prices we will be free camping when ever we can!!

Cheers for now and have a great weekend.

Jo

Excellent timing, what a great capture. I take it that's a litre for the fuel. We pay by the litre in Canada but the gallon when we go into the U.S.A.........Sandy

What a fantastic experience and a brilliant shot Jo. They really don't care about you in the least. I went to the Isle of May yesterday, a bird reserve, but most of the birds have migrated now. Had hoped for some seal pups - saw 1 Sad, and the boat was rocking too much to get a decent shot of it. Ah well, c'est la vie. Moira

delighted to hea that you are off to new adventures!
these pelicans are so funny, it is almost as if the kids are checking what mum has brought home from shopping.
great info about the diesel prices, that is a shock to me I remember prices between 64 and 85 cts. here in Portugal it is about 140 for diesel and 160 for unleaded...

Did you take these pelicans near the small harbour at San Remo, just before the bridge going to Phillip Island?

Love those pelicans!
