Bright and Happy

By ade_mcfade
A bright, breezy and sunny day, ok, the tree's a bit on teh old and hagged side, but it's a focal point.

There's a nice chain leading you to the tree.

You could argue that the gate post should not intersect the tree here, but I thought the chain leading the eye stright to the tree worked, so the post had to go where it did.

Just testing out a theory with this shot... having said that, I really like it too. But I'm sure it will prove me right Smile

There is no justice if this doesn't get an RC at the very least, certainly deserves it mate.

ha ha

cheers folks - I was chatting to Judi about this and my theory is that (based on my highest click shots) if you go miserable, you do well on here!

ok, miserable can mean "dramatic", and I love them, I've done HUNDREDS of the darn things.

But anything with a blue sky is deemed to have been taken at the wrong time and therefore over looked ! With it being so sunny on Sunday, I had to get a nice shot out there.

your title sums up this shot perfectly, Sue

I think if you'd moved slightly to the right, you could have got the chain coming from bottom left corner & the post wouldn't have been in front of the tree. But then I wasn't there. Good shot though.

it was at 17mm Rog, so the lens was almost touching the chain when i took the shot - so movig to the right would have lost the chain from shot really. But I see how you'd think that.

it's more a comment on the abject misery photos beating the bright and breezy ones! Smile

You don't think you're being a bit paranoid here, do you? The one thing I've learnt in my short membership is that if all else fails, try a snail or a ladybird. Works every time.

Nice one Ade. Love the colours. Not sure about the chain and post but I strangely like the bit of road mmm... Great detail.

ha ha - never done a ladybird shot Rog

If in doubt, go to a waterfall on an overcast day armed with a polariser and 5 stops of grad.

you have to make a complete **** up to get ignored with one of those!

Just had a giggle at your tags. Have read the above and had yet another giggle. I do like this picture, though, bright and cheerful, taken in the daytime, good low angle and lead-in. It does it for me, but I don't give out awards !
