Bristol Supersonic

By dark_lord
Back to familiar territory, mono and aircraft.
A Bristol 188 supersonic research aircraft which could only achieve Mach 1.88 rather than Mach 2, and couldn't maintain the speed long enough to study structural heating effects. The project was cancelled in 1964 after two years but the technical knowledge obtined was used in the Concorde programme.

Great aero image showing the clean lines of the aircraft, and they look massive jet engines compared to the slimmed down ones of today. Pleased to make it 30 as well.
