Brograve Mill, Horsey, Norfolk

By steve_eb
Been on my "to do list" for a few years & whilst having a conversation on the beach at Horsey photographing the seals I was informed that I was "on it's doorstep" which was quite annoying to me as I'd been to Horsey a few times...hey ho

Directions gratefully accepted off I went on a wee hike to find said mill & on a quite blustery day 2 of visting the mill I was very happy to get this shot.

Comments always welcomed & I appreciate you looking in at my image...

Have a good day, Steve Smile

Thanks, I was after a painterly quality to the image & this was the one from about 6 shots that rose above the others.
Big thanks for the UA too Alfie it’s very much appreciated.

Snuggling the camera into the grass is rewarded with intimate view of the iconic mill. Warmth of all that textured grass says how-dee-do to the cool sky.

Not the prettiest mill in the world but totally lifted by your imagination and composition. Excellent work. J

Love the movement in the reeds - and congrats on the POTW!

A truly fine image Steve, I think it being a breezy day helped a lot, the reeds blurred and giving more focus to the mill itself. I would love to see a version of this as a dramatic B&W!

A nice idea Bill I will look at that, agreed the movement was very important to the image hence the f22 to slow down the exposure just enough...thanks for the comment...
