yep, 445 seconds to be precise.

You wouldn't want to go running about in the dark there - deep dark holes all over the limestone pavement just waiting for you to break a leg falling into them... and there's nobody else around but the ghosts of the past. So it's a long exposure to get the cloud moving and to give me enough time to safely walk around with a dimmed torch.

Three, but that was only cos they had a red, a blue and no filters - not easy changing the damn things in the dark Smile

You just get a feel for how much you need to fire them. The blue one was quite transparent and the red one stopped a fair bit of the emitted light, so it was about double the number of pops on the red one to achieve the same illumination level. You also have to remember about the Inverse Square Law - the closer the light source to the subject the more of the light falls on it regardless of the type of filtration... so you have to be careful you don't burn things out...

Put another way, if you stood really close to the slab and flashed it from a coupla feet, there would be a big burnt out patch there after only a few flashes. If you stand 30 feet away you might need to fire it 50 times to get any visible effect at all.

The other thing with hand-holding flashguns is that they don't need to be compatible with your camera to work Smile One was a Canon 300TL

This came out truly beautiful, wish l hadn't been so cold and tired..
