Brothers in Arms

By AshTree
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I hope you'll forgive the image not quite fitting the words of the first verse.....

A very fitting contribution, well done.
I have lived in West Flanders long enough to appreciate it!
had been thinking of digging out some pictures around where I used to live but then ... it doesn't matter which subject you choose and which grave it is, may we never forget!

Well planned and Photographed Theresa.
Do a google on Robin of Pegswood. It is quite interesting and this piece of sculptured art Stands in the middle of a traffic roundabout near to a small village in Northumberland.
