Bruno

By jdenman
This is Bruno a German Shorthaired Pointer, aged 11. Bruno had a very poor start, was rescued after being beaten and shot by hunters. Was taken into a home, then six months later the owner left leaving him and another without food or water. He then went into a rescue kennel for two years, before a friend fostered him before I fell for that face three years ago. Is a really lovely boy, full of life and always ready to wag is little docked tail.
Many thanks for the votes, comments and UA's on the photo of Spike yesterday.

There's a knowing sadness in those eyes.

a hard start for Bruno.. he is now in safe haven and fear is gone from his eyes, only a hint of sadness is discernible, as Moira aptly noted... a wonderful portrait

John, what a kind man you are rescuing these lonely, abandoned dogs. Smile Poor Bruno has that resigned look of having seen too much, but I'm sure inside he's really happy now.

A wonderful dog beautifully photographed.

I'm always amazed and shocked at man's cruelty to animals. My sister-in-law has a rescue dog, his name is bones, you can probably guess why. It was four Months before they could stroke him as he though he was going to be beaten.

John.

I missed this upload a few days ago...breaks my heart to read how he was treated. Fortunately he found the love and care in your home, something he obviously needed. Since this upload he has died and reading your narrative above makes his passing even sadder. One can take comfort knowing his last years were full of love.
