Build Me Up Buttercup .....

By NickBrandon
Another from my British Wildflower (or is it seen as a weed) series.

A Meadow Buttercup.

How hard are these to capture ???
The yellow reflects light well and trying to get any detail without blowing the highlights is painstakingly frustrating.

Managed this shot by, tripod mounting and partially shielding the sun with my shadow, then only the breeze to contend with..GRRRRRR. Oh yes used a remote release.

Hope your weekend is bright and sunny,

regards Nick

I could understand all that you said in your info, frustrating litle flowers to capture, but well done here Nick.

love the buttercup dont mind if it is a weed it presents great colour - you have my problem just a little, with over exposure right at the bottom! - was the sun shining on the flower head? Its a good shot apart from that tiny bit - you can get your own back later commenting on the error of my ways I wont mind and hope you dont mind me pointing this out to YOU!

No problem Ann, it's constructive critique that helps us all to improve. I'd much rather someone say what they mean, well done good shot is nice, but doesn't show us where we can get better. Feel free to comment on any image, I really don't mind.

Yellow is really hard, especially shiny yellow.
The sun was shining but I couldn't hold the highlights.

Graham60 did a mod, but still didn't get over the blown highlight.

Have a nice weekend all, Nick
