Burbage Vista

By sut68
On Sunday morning, I got out of bed early and set off on my 90 minute drive. I had initially intended to catch sunrise from the top of Higger Tor in the Derbyshire Peaks. Alas, a thick and low cloud bank on the horizon scuppered this.

However, I was determined to sit it out for a while and wait for the sun to climb above it and cast some lovely warm light on the surrounding landscape. Unfortunately, when it did come, there was a quite a bit of high cloud cover, which simply diffused the light and didn't really give too much in the way of contrast. Even so, I was quite happy with the shots I got at this point.

A hearty breakfast at the Grindleford Café shortly after was my reward for the effort.
