Bus stop lines

By tom_earwaker
Taken near the Choi Hung station in Hong Kong. I've lightened the woman, increased contrast and cropped.

Nice timing for the raised foot, that conveys forward motion.

You mention having cropped - could you add the full image please as a modification? My quibble here is that I'd really like to see the full length of the lady's shadow. The cut-off looks awkward and rather spoils the balance.

The question is where to crop...

Something that was troubling me a few days ago...

I'd like to see all of the woman's shadow, and completion fo the roof arch on the right.

Yes, I can see the reason for the crop.

Thanks for the original, Tom.
It's not what I thought it would be like, and I can now see that your crop makes a lot of sense.
However, I have tried a few different ideas in my modifications.

I used your original, straightened it, then cropped as close as I could manage to avoid the cropping side triangles. This left in the two other pedestrians on the right, but I thought I would give it a go, and see what you thought. However, I removed the pedestrian behind the larger man, so we have one coming and one going. But it's the lines of the posts, the arch shapes on the shelter, and the shadows that make this image, I think.
Those shadows certainly are long, so completion of the lady's shadow obviously isn't possible, but completion of the shelter roof is.
I adjusted colour and contrast a little.

My second modification is simply a crop of my first, and is quite similar to the composition of your original upload here, although, with the extra space on the right, the lady's shadow is a bit longer and the shelter roof edge is showing.

Dont straighten it, tile it more. Looks more dynamic and candid,

I'm with Willie. Maybe a slight crop at the top (I tried square, and it lost too much of the structure of the shelter). And the richer tones are good in the original.

There's definitely no obvious way to crop this! Thanks for taking the time, I appreciate all the mods and comments. I like the ones with more of the shadows showing, kind of leads me into the picture better and gives more of a sense of the light. I see what you mean about the tilt as well, does add a bit more interest and the straight version looks a bit static in comparison.
