Taken in July 2009, a view across Buttermere towards Green Crag, Haystacks and the northern buttresses of High Crag and High Stile.
Alfred Wainwright, the author of what are regarded as the definitive guides to Lakeland fell walking, left instructions that his ashes be scattered by Innominate Tarn on the top of Haystacks. And he left the following comment......"And if you, dear reader, should get a bit of grit in your boot as you are crossing Haystacks in the years to come, please treat it with respect. It might be me!"
(Apologies for not having been around much yesterday.....the old back has been playing up something nasty and could not sit at computer for long. Can only take quick look and "click" meantime. Sorry about that. Hopefully will settle soon.)
Details: ISO 640, 1/80 sec. at f/22.0. Viewing LARGE is I feel worthwhile if time permits.
Many thanks to all who voted for and commented on "Mauve Dahlia"......as always. I appreciate your attention.
