Caerlaverock 2

By woolybill1
Second of four views from Caerlaverock Castle, taken from an upstairs floor in one of the towers. The oblique angle of the opposite wall is explained by the triangular plan of the castle layout.

Thanks for the massive support for yesterday's Caerlaverock 1 and particularly to Carole for her U.A. Smile

I can imagine the confusion when attacking hoards laid eyes on this castle the first time. Where's the fourth side? A cunning design ploy.

The ideal view point for making the most of this scene, Bill. Great mono too, always a good move when so much lovely stonework is involved.

Love the textures, and great use of the window to frame and create the geometrical shapes.

I was wondering when you would get inside this imposing castle. I am not disappointed with this image as it shows the inner walls and nicely framed.

A really beautiful one Bill! Love the fine contrast between the darker forground and lighter behind. Also very fine structure!
Good work!

The view you have chosen really is perfect for setting of this interesting bit of masonry. It seems to have held together well.
As mentioned before, your tonal work is fabulous.
