Calder and Hebble Navigation 4: 'Tuskini'

By TrevBatWCC
The last of canal boats, I promise! Reaching the end of this straight stretch of the canal, it bends sharply off to the right as we're looking at this scene, and towards some lock gates. Not the poshest of boats here, but worth grabbing a shot, and looking back where I'd walked along. Just off to the right of the 'Tuskini' was this solitary flower (V1) growing out of the concrete which begged to be photographed, so obliged. Have to confess I didn't know its name and with the help of my iPhone plant identifier app, found it to be a Helianthus 🌻
There will be some boatless canal images to follow…

I like this a lot, Trev, and wonder what stories those two boats could tell.

Terrific depth to this, Trev, another fascinating boats image. Looks like they have their own watercress plantation? Nice juxtaposition (wot?) between the peaceful boats and the high rise buildings in the distance. Another good boatabikia image 😄

Superb PoV on the lead image Trev, and love the solitary flower. I have never travelled on a canal boat, but something I would love to do.

Lovely POV and subjects Trev. They look as though a little TLC would not go amiss. I like the colour and tones too. I'm off to catch up on your other canal images.

I'm glad you took the flower because it took your fancy, it is so pretty amongst all the concrete. It's good not to lose the confidence to take the images that we like and not worry about what others might like too. Well done you and love that bokeh background.

That looks a great canal walk Trev. Love the canal boats. They appear to be moored in water plants at the moment. 😉

Both beautiful shots Trev, it looks like the boats have sailed into a bowl of cress 😆
