Calder and Hebble Navigation

By TrevBatWCC
Thought I'd take the Big Black Camera walkies whilst we still had some warm sunny weather and before the forecasted rain came! At just 1 km down the road from home, is this short Calder and Hebble Navigation canal (720 metres total length, give or take a few centimetres!). The River Calder takes a sharp U-turn around where the Hepworth Gallery Wakefield is located and there is a weir alongside, so the canal bypasses the weir, thus allowing boats through.
These are the first two images I took along my walk. The version was taken a minute or two before the lead image.

Raw images processed in Nikon Capture NX-D, tweaked in Nik Collection's plugins and Photoshop Elements 2020.

Thanks again to everyone for your vote & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 😃👍

I like both Trev but have a preference for your version! So glad you got out on that towpath!

I do hope there are more images to come.

Top quality duo here Trev, it looks a lovely place for a stroll. Do people fish there or is the water not suitable? Have always been attracted to narrow boats, slow and peaceful vibe to them, and plenty of wildlife nearby 👌
