Caleb in his cot

By Loudon
Here is a photo of Caleb taken today (27/05/2010). Caleb was born over 6 weeks ago 14 weeks prematurely. He has spent the first 6 weeks plus in an incubator and on a ventilator. Because of his fighting spirit and the incredible support of the staff of the Neo-Natal Unit at St James' Hospital in Leeds he has battled through various challenges until yesterday he was put into a cot and is now off the ventilator and on oxygen fed through his nose. The battle is not over but hopefully he will continue to develop. He was born weighing 2 lbs and is now very nearly 3lbs in weight. Thank you everybody for your support, prayers and thoughts. All being well tomorrow he will be bathed for the first time. Much of this seemed impossible at times over the last 6 weeks.

Raise your glasses to Caleb the son of Claire and Matt and brother to the girls. May he continue to prosper!

If anyone is remotely interested in how this photo was taken, it was shot in very subdued lighting with the camera hand held and no flash.

Excellent capture of the "Premie," Caleb, obviously shown, here, with the "fighting spirit of Life & God." May he grow & prosper into a wonderful man of great abilities. Regards...Peter
