Calm and Chaos

By 213hardy
Had a stroll out yesterday afternoon to look at the Swale, wasn't up as far as it had been, but still fairly impressive. Always love the colour of this iron rich river.

The River Swale is a river in Yorkshire, England and a major tributary of the River Ure, which itself becomes the River Ouse, emptying into the North Sea via the Humber Estuary.

The name Swale is from the Anglo-Saxon word Sualuae meaning rapid and liable to deluge. Annual rainfall figures of 1800mm p.a. in the headwaters and 1300mm p.a. in the lower waters over a drop of 148m in 32 km, gives proof to its name. The river gives its name to the valley through which it flows, namely Swaledale.

All C&Cs welcome

Thanks for looking

Den

P.S would also like to Thank mooreish for my first ever UA, cheers fellaSmile

Intriguing, water with the hardness and weight of art glass. I rather prefer V2. I think there's a strong square crop trying to get out of the top part of V1, the softer area and the bit of green lower down the frame are distracting.

That's a fair point, Moira, V2 will probably get posted on it's own at some point, and V1 will get tinkered with.Smile

Thanks again

Great set, Den, love those colours. v2 by far the best for me, the colours and the banding make a cracking composition (although you could maybe shave a bit off the top).

I really like the abstract glass look quality of V1. The colours are amazing.. V2 is an excellent composition. Drawing on all the layers and colours.. Great set of images
