I uploaded a few shots of the mailbox a month or two ago and then lost the folder after a harddrive problem. So I went back yesterday to take a few more...
The approaching figure striding purposely forward is a mailbox security gaurd. She reckons you need written permission to photograph the building. I pointed out I was stood on a public street. Apparently I was breaking the law doing so, although she wasn't sure which law. I asked if i was allowed to stand in the street, turn around and photograph the road in the other direction. She told me to stop being funny. I couldn't help pointing out it was her who had just told me I was breaking the law standing in the street taking a photo, and that that was funny. I even got to describe myself as an "amateur photographer!"
After much discussion over her radio she conceded that she might have been talking rubbish. I was allowed to take my photo stood in the road (although strangely not from the cycle lane). The result was similiar to my previous upload, mailbox2, but i thought this version with the camera police actually in the image was better.

I might have to upload a couple more mailbox shots over the next few days....
