Canal Gardens

By TrevBatWCC
A quickie break from my Whitby holiday. On Friday I splashed out and bought myself a new camera, the Nikon D7100, together with the newer standard kit zoom lens of 18-105mm - a much more useful lens than the 18-55mm which came with my old camera. So, after familiarising myself with the hundreds more features and menus, and the weather forecast for yesterday sounded good, set off to Roundhay Park on the outskirts of Leeds to try it out. I was hoping there might be some autumn colours on the trees, but apart from a few fallen leaves, most still had green leaves on them Sad Not a lot in the way of flowers either, but the weather was lovely & sunny - and quite warm too Smile This was taken in the Canal Gardens, across the road from the main entrance into the park.

Single Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 4 and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

Trev Smile

Recorded the different green tones a treat here Trev.
And I reckon there are too many features in cameras nowadays.
You need to be a Philadelphia lawyer to work them out.
And I have still to work out why they pick on the lawyers from Philadelphia for that saying !!

I thought this was my local park in London for a moment. It looks just the same. Smile
Hope you enjoy your new kit. I like getting new lenses best as you can get straight out to use them without wading through pages of menus. Smile

Judging by this result Trev you have every thing in hand, a cracking capture and wonderful process. How big are the files from this camera?

Trev.

If that's a canal, what's a dirt great statue doing in the middle of it? A waterway version of a traffic island?WinkGrin

Congrats on the new camera, Trev, even if it is only a NokinTongue

Congratulations on your choice, Trev, it's a sure-fire winner!
We have only a few leaves down so far, of the mucky brown variety; then all at once they will all have gone Sad
Plenty of detail to be captured with that camera in winter, though!
Nicely composed photo, a good venue I think. Even if Malc can't recognise a calcified water-sprite when he sees one GrinGrinBlushBlush

Keep 'em coming! Bill is suffering from serious kit envy. When he succumbs to the D7100 I get his D7000...
