CANDIDS FROM A SMALL TOWN series.

By hobbo
My series continues, more of those of mature years, like myself, not because they are easy targets, but because, on any weekday, they outnumber the younger generations.

To me, it is good to see them, out and about, enjoying a coffee and a cake, or simply shopping .
All age groups will feature in this series eventually I promise.

I am beginning to like the crooked horizons, and partly missed shots, they prove just how difficult it is to shoot from the hip .

See all versions.

Another nice set, there's a certain dynamism in the crooked and part images.

Thank you James, and all……..

Yiu are right about the , dynamism, coming from the out of kilter cropped images; they possess an immediacy of life in suspension, for that particular split second.
In the main, my subjects are totally unaware of my presence , except sometimes to notice the camera, rather than me; because I have walked quietly on.
I do miss quite a few shots, because I shoot without using the viewfinder or the back screen; so the misses, crooked horizons and crops were learned from the late great Gary Winogrand. The difference with me is that I have adapted his techniques in a slightly different way.

I am attempting to prove, that it isn’t necessary to attend events, or be in a big city to enjoy the many Street challenges; especially that of getting really close to unsuspecting subjects.

A completely different application of method, from fellow member (Nellaccphoto ) Colin, who poses his amazing subjects.

This series will continue for some time.

Thank you all, for your ongoing interest and encouragement.
