This Xmas, my daughter's school held a candlelit carol concert at the local church. Murmuring "nothing ventured, nothing gained", I recognised this as a potential opportunity for some high-ISO handheld low-light shots, which I am particularly partial to. After a few half decent efforts at 1/8s and ISO3200 wide open, and with the loud shutter of the D90 annoying a few folk, the choristers scattered to positions around the church. By an incredible stroke of luck, my daughter came to rest just 5 yards away and I was able to snap a single, lovely, shot at 1/15s. The trusty D90 performed impeccably, with very little camera shake even at 135mm focal length and reasonably good noise management. Interesting shadow pattern of the glasses on the forehead!
