Cape weaver bird

By fotobee
Tulbagh South Africa. A Cape weaver bird, (Ploceus capensis olivaceous) resplendent in his new breeding colours for this year. The Global Warming problem is really showing up, as he is a few months early. His nest building has already begun, in our garden pepper tree.

Thanks to all the people who looked at, voted and commented on my "Blast from the past" photo yesterday. This really is appreciated.

I somehow missed Monday out in uploading photo`s, as, by the time I was finished looking at yours, it was already 23h00, and I called it a day.

Have a good week

Stunning shot! And how strange you should post that today- my class of 5-8 year olds are studying local birds at the moment and were looking through a bird book when one of the boys declared the cape weaver bird one of his favourites and wanted to know if our bird feeders would attract them to Shetland GrinGrin

A beautiful capture with magic colour and clarity. Well done Martin.
