Capped Off

By chase
I went to the Woods again..armed this time.I took a piece of black card for a backdrop, white card for a reflector & a big torch.I bounced the torchlight off the white reflector.
I wanted to show part of the underside of this one which I spotted the day before in a badly lit area of the wood.Got to it before the slugs had their fill.

F8 manual mode
0.8 secs.balanced on my camera bag
ISO 100
Spot Metering

Raw converted in C1LE
Adjustments & border added in CS2

Thankyou for taking the time to look.
I think it's an Ink Cap of some sort.. but will stand corrected, great textures though.
EDIT...A Parasol Mushroom..thankyou Jimmy
Janet

This is a much better upload, great use of the reflector to bounce light under the 'sroom .. One thing to watch for with black cards is that they take light from the top of the mushroom leaving darker areas .. that has not happened too much here .. Id like to see the same mushroom shot with a green card .. its a superb example and well found!

I actually managed to avoid getting bitten this time Wink

Thanks Dan,the colour of my other image was very wrong on here, took one look & took it off..yeuck.
Don't think I'll be that lucky to get a return visit, the slugs are out in force after the rain here..lol although I must admit I never thought about a green bg..must paint one with a bit of a gradient for a backdrop.
Thanks for your advice.

Thankyou all.

Jimmy..thanks for the I.D. this one was in the woods ,not in the grass,it was growing on a mossy bank though. Are they really edible? had I known I would have brought it home for Tea.

Chris..hmmm had to have my weetabix before this expedition although I did at least know where I was going & the cards fit nicely into my camera bag..no tripod to cart around this time!
