"Careful Now"!

By Lillian
ALL the wrong settings!!...but who cares, even had the 500mm lens on! hand held! and taken through double glazing...

Really had CS5 working to get the images light enough to view, but you know I am so pleased that I have this set of images, V2 is the male about to visit...V3 well you just see.. And tomorrow more to finish off the set...Oh did I say I was pleased...?

Hope this does not upset is to me nature at it's best And they have a nest box with a camera in again, so I will be busy Grin

Glad you liked the Mandarin Duck yesterday and thanks for dropping by and leaving your comments and vote.

(Mick am sending bus fare...)

Mods are on for someone to improve this for me maybe??

I like the way its made their hair stand up - you have to be superfast with Dunnocks - they reckon about a 1/10 of a second
13 Apr 2011 7:40AM
Well done. I find them too fast. By the time I have actually got the camera out they have flown away. Let alone worrying about what settings I am on!!

You are so fortunate to witness this Lillian, something many people will never see and to have the camera to hand is a real stroke of luck.

p.s. Just as a little tip that might help, I always leave my camera set on maunal at f8 and 1/125 with or without auto focus. You will always get an image of some kind in the case of unexpected events. Give it a try and perhaps just tweak the settings to suit the lens you have on the camera at the time. Hope this is useful Smile

Nice shots Lillian, as people have said not many people have seen this, I was in Bristol Zoo trying to photograph the Gorillas, the cage was empty, I asked the keeper where they were, he said inside making love, I said if I throw some nuts in would they come out, he said would you! The old ones are the best.

What a wonderful capture, Lillian. Great timing, and they haven't sued you for voyeurism, yet Wink Seriously, very hard to capture this act of Nature, and I just love v.1. It's made their hair stand up in v.2. I agree with Doc above, I leave my camera permanently on 1/125th @ f8 so it is ready for 'grab shots'. This is a great set, especially v.1 for the postures. Shortlisted.
