Carmarthen Guildhall

By TrevBatWCC
On the second full day of my Tenby holiday, we had a coach outing to Carmarthen. Though dull, the day started off fine, but as soon as I got the camera out of the bag it started raining! 😕
Here in Carmarthen's Guildhall Square stands the Guildhall (well, it would be there wouldn’t it?!). This Grade I listed building was built during the 1770s and has been in use as a magistrate's court since then, but was closed in 2016, and bought by Carmarthenshire County Council. It's planned to turn the ground floor and part of the first floor into a restaurant, but nothing has been finalised as yet.
To the left of the front façade is this beautiful plaque (V1) dedicated to Gwynfor Evans, Plaid Cymru's first MP.

Many thanks to Graham, (Ericsamson) and Carol (canoncarol) for their User Awards on my previous upload Till there was you! , most appreciated 🏆👍

Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 👍

A very fine building Trev - seems there are more eating places on the high street/squares than shops now. The town centre does look lovely.
