A perfectly god shot of it's type with a decent composition. Everyone has to try it.

There was some breeze during the exposure so some of the plants are blurred. Otherwise not a bad effort.

Ken Rockwell has doen some good and helpful stuff, but the settings he has used on that page are perverse, I think. It may seem odd for a photographic unknown to criticise a bit of an Internet legend, but here goes...

All the images have the same gritty, oversharpened feel that the cascade pictures do, and if you are using his custom settings for sharpness and so on, that will be why you are getting odd results.

Doctors often respond to a patient who has got suddenly sicker during a course of treatment by taking them into hospital and withdrawing all drugs, so they can start from what the illness looks like when there are no side-effects of drugs altering hte symptoms.

I prescribe the same for your pictures. Standard colour, no unusual custom settings for sharpness, saturation or contrast.
