Castle Ruins

Also called King John's Castle, this fortress is sited on a rock overlooking the town of Carlingford in Co Louth, Ireland. It was built by the Normans sometime around 1200, and apparently King John did actually stay in the castle for 3 days in 1210. I hope he enjoyed his stay.......
