Cat Ba is the biggest island of the Halong Bay archipelago. There are about 2000 islands. Some other source says 1969 islands (which corresponds to the year of Ho Chi Minh's death).

Cat Ba Town is where you arrive from Haiphong or where many boat tours will stop for a night. The place has a strong touristy feel with lots of hotels but if you look towards the sea and harbour there is a different world.
Many people live on those floating houses and boats. They go fishing and laying nets all day long.

The photos were taken at the end of the afternoon (f14 1/40th zoom at 21mm cropped top and bottom).

Thanks you for your comments. It's very nice feeling to make you travel with my photos.

All comments ..etc.. are always welcome.

Have a nice day despite the rain and enjoy the sunshine if you are so lucky to have it,

A world of difference... I have just found your series (I've had little time recently) - this is wonderful. Just like Hilary I find #5 inspirational because of the blue, but all are inspired Jean Noel.
