Here's another portrait from me.. whilst still in the mood Wink
This one's from my Sister's wedding in Nerja last year. The young lady is my daughter, so once she finds out this will more than likely come down!
Again, like the natural lighting..

Thanks for your time, as always your thoughts/comments are very welcome.

Regards - Sarah J x

Expression good but let down by the out-of-focus background clutter.

Everything that a candid portrait should be in my book - natural, spontaneous, dynamic, beautifully isolated, and with just enough context. Tell her it stays!
For pentaxpete, you could partially desaturate the background.

Thanks Peter, I understand that professionally! For me though it's a family portrait and I find the background appealing, it was intended that way but I appreciate your comment!

Moira, thank you very much, I'll tell her if she gets to see it, don't think it will help though Smile

You may want to try something like a 10 x 8 crop and just crop the very top of the shot.

The young lady, (yer wain), is beautiful and the shot is nicely capturing a lovely relaxed moment. Everything about her works in this photo, ..... but, .... The human eye always goes to the brightest part of an image first and wants to return there again and again, so the background does take away from what would otherwise have been a cracker. Mind you I take loads of these during weddings and the background can be darkened and thrown more out of focus in so it can still be saved!

V2 works better for me, Sarah.
Think I'd go even further with the backgound by darkening it a bit.

Lovely portrait.

The BG in this type of portrait, should always give a sense of occasion Sarah, and you've done that perfectly.

Another super portrait, Sarah, this time candid rather than posed. I agree with you about the background, it tells us something about the occasion and therefore adds to the shot, in my opinion.

Its and fine relaxed portrait capture Sarah, for me the crop does not work as well as Ver 1 as it focus you more on to the background.
Its good to get feedback but I would stay with version 1.

An excellent candid portrait Sarah and you have a beautiful daughter, the laughter and champagne glass capture the occasion well. If you wanted to try, this may work well as a mono with a vignette to focus attention on your daughter.

Lovely work though and I hope we see more of this from you.

I think you should just leave it as it is. Smile

Just a lovely, spontaneous shot of your daughter, obviously enjoying herself, at a family wedding.

In fact, the slightly out-of-focus lady with the glass, for me, adds to the overall effect.

Years gone by this would have been a print from a negative and put in an album, so I hope this just does not get filed away on some hard drive and never seen again !

Cant get the variant up Sad Nice shot, I agree with the other's Sarah to a certain degree, but like you have said in your comments, its a family type shot, not set up in any way! For me its a lovely natural shot and well captured!

Update, you sure this is your daughter Sarah? Looking at ur profile pic, looks more like your sister Wink
