Chance Encounter

By david deveson
200 metres from the house, going down to do the shopping when I rounded the curve to be greeted by this flock of sheep... just time to 'snap' one through the misty windscreen and hope and pray that it came out.
It did and no matter what I do to it, colour, pale colour, B&W, pale B&W or sepia it still looks good.
A Chance Encounter indeed.
Thank you Trevor Howard, wherever you are.

Wow, that does look good. Almost like some ancient biblical scene or something. Like a an 18th century painting. number one works best for me.

The "Old masters" would have given their eye teeth for light like this David. Soft and bright at once and coming through the fog it has a spectral feeling which adds to the wonderfull composition.
A simply wonderful image which I'd have on the wall.

Dougie

PS they're all good but I favour V1.

Thanks Andy for the award... Good?
To be perfectly honest this time it purely down to luck... a misty windscreen was the icing on the cake!

Love the collection of expressions front row left. This is a situation I've been in so often (sheep-farming territory big time!) but never had the camera easily accessible. One day...
V1 here, no need for anything else.

Pastoral comes to mind. This is beautiful, like a fine painting. I particularly like v1 with the darker edges/tones and the toning of v5 is quite excellent.

v1 for me David, lovely romantic image. V1 has the tones that are most fitting I think. Great dof with the fog etc.

Ah Koen... I call it luck since it was the nly choice I had and if you had a choice would you have done it all covered in moisture and dirt???
Either way it worked.

I would probably have made the mistake not to have taken the photo thinking the windscreen would ruin it anyway Wink
