The strange thing with wide angle lenses your either pointing down or pointing them up. The one thing is they give you some great lines as this image shows.

The strong lines and the pov all go to make a strong and powerful image. Great job...

Love the POV Sandy, some super textures in both images.
Scrolling dow, it may be a consideration to crop away the top right down to almost the 'vanishing point' thus leaving out the sky in both images, just a suggestion and may give them a little more impact.
