Chantele (One Woman's Story)

By lifesnapper
Around 2010 Chantele took part in a 'Race For Life' event on behalf of a good friend who's name she wore on her back on the Day. Sadly her friend lost her battle with Breast Cancer and since then Chantele herself has fallen victim to that dreadful disease but while undergoing treatment she decided to take her fund raising efforts to a bigger stage and not only took part but completed the London Marathon raising load's of Money for Cancer Research. This year she's back on the 'Pretty Muddy Race For Life' course, as you'll see in the last Two images. A smaller event than the London Marathon of course, but every bit as important, and the letter's on her back now reduced to just two now simply read, 'ME'

Chantele is just one of the brave among the brave which makes me think of our lovely Barbara who takes the word 'brave' to another level and who we wish all the luck in the World in this, the darkest time of her life.

Your narrative and images make me take stock of all I've got to be grateful for - despite loosing my own husband to cancer this time last year. A horrible disease - as a woman I can sympathise with these ladies in particular and applaud their fundraising efforts.

Great set of images today and write up. Having lost my sister to cancer I know how hard it is to keep positive and be brave and these ladies have shown how its done.
