Another from my recent trip to Marrakech, this time in the Jamaa el Fna square and one of the many snake charmers. This was only a baby cobra but with that look on his face I didn't want to get too close, not easy with only a 20mm lens Tongue

I tried as best I could to compose this to capture the scene rather than just a snake and I think the snake charmer playing in the background and the other tourists watching on help achieve this.

Thanks to those who commented on the last one, hope you like this too.

Thanks guys. Oh yes this one cost me Ed, not as much as he was asking/demanding though. I avoided these guys at first as they were very 'in your face' but this guy wasn't as bad so I succumbed and took the shot. Only then did he become almost aggressive demanding way too much money in my opinion so I gave him what I thought was suitable and left.

Thought so, had exactly the same myself. You really do have to give what you think and walk away.

Looks like pay up or the snake gets you, good work with the selective focus

An excellent take Darren, worth a few 'sheckles' lol I've no idea what the currency is!

Anyway I like how you've toned this, the focussing and the background - works very well! Marrakech is high on my 'to visit' list but I think I'll be keeping well away from these creatures!! Wink

Your braver than me Darren, I hate snakes. A well thought out image considering the snake is just inches from the camera!

Great capture, Darren much better than the ones I came away with when I was there! Wink

The snake's head is placed using the 'rule of thirds' composition. The DOF is such that you've captured the context brilliantly. Excellent.
