Cheetah eating

By WimdeVos
Who or what will be the next meal?
This is one of three Cheetah's kept by my sister in law on her farm in Namibia, she found the 3 as pups in the field near the farm about 3 years ago, the mother had died some distance away.
I don't think its common practise to keep wild animals as pets but when on occasion this happens, they feed them, raise them and since it is almost impossible to put them then back in to the wild, they keep them on the farm as pets and to keep intruders away, however, one should remember that these animals will never be quite as tame as a cat or a dog.

what is the story behind these cheetah shots? do they keep it around as a pet? if so, is it a normal practise in Namibia? Just wondering because it reminds me a bit of a series photographer Pieter Hugo did, in Lagos, Nigeria, about folks who keep Hyenas as 'pets'; they walk 'm around in huge, heavy chains. Quite chilling to see : http://www.pieterhugo.com/the-hyena-other-men/
