Have missed a few days having problems,
These images were taken in the walled garden at Holmherd near Windermere, I think owned by the National Trust in September 2006 The detail and textures in the bark caught our eye, A little different from flowers,wonder what you think of these Images all comments and critique most wellcome, And must thank everyone who voted and made such kind comment on our last upload,

I never realised just how interesting the bark was on this species. My preference goes to N°2 for the detail. In places it looks like a copper coil, and at the bottom I am reminded of a knitted sweater.

Incredible colour and detail in this bark, I didn't realise how beautiful these trees were. I like both but the cropped version really shows the beauty of it to a tee.
