Hey, people
Thanks for the comments and votes on yesterday’s pic. LOVE the comments, especially. Didn’t realise there were so many chilli fans (of the fruit, not me!) out there
And oh my word, Lynne, 40 kilos of chilli jam!! Now THAT’s a chilli fan

I love the name of your jam too – Mermelada Volcanica. I once bought a jar of chilli jam but I think I’m gonna try making my own.
Now then, people, the plant in yesterday’s image came from a seed packet and it looked like a normal long red chilli on the packet. BUT, I reckon it might actually be a smaller hottish variety from the look of the fruit today.
I took this pic this afternoon. The very first chilli on the plant. 7cm long. I won’t wait for it to turn red, though. Green chillies taste different from red chillies and I prefer the taste of green chillies in omelettes. And I wanna make an omelette with this. So the very first blush and I’ll pick it. Then wash it, slice it fine, and make a simple omelette with onion and fresh thyme. Ummm. I’ll try a slice of the chilli plain first, to check out its taste and hotness.
Cassiecat, I took V2 to show you THREE more headless stems.
Ed, the grasshoppers are usually no more than an inch long and the little ‘uns are like 5mm long. But they all munch on all sorts of flowers and leaves here and are a complete flipping nuiscance.
