the vote is for the angle/viewpoint and the great sense of motion with the man walking in the fg and the caller seeming to connect with him (and making you invisible). The lanterns are a bit lost on me, and it doesn't really feel like they are the subject of the photo. To me it feels like the photo would have the same impact without them. I'm not a big fan of the conversion method (for this scene) tbh. too heavy handed imo, it works for the fg walker, but it practically nukes everything in the bg. I would also crop out the man with the cap and the biker on the rhs.

I like your use of low level photography. I only wish I could still get down there but might have a problem getting back up! It gives a different slant on the image with the person striding from the left and the puzzled man on his phone trying to work what is going on. An image to make you think!

the PoV and the foreground walker, to mention just two, make for a really striking picture
