Christmas Shopping

By dark_lord
Late afternoon shopping in Wulfrun Way in the Wulfrun Centre. Canon T90, Scotch 640T tungsten film.

This was 30 uyears ago shortly before modernisation so you can see the glorious 1960s/1970s architecture and state of the art (Wink) tungsten bulb illuminations. It's also the time when independent greengrocers occupied retail units before being driven out by extortionate rents and eing replaced with national fashion chains for a 'clean, corporate and ultimately boring' look.

The Version shows another part of the Centre where the shop at the top right is Brentfords, previously known as Brentfrod Nylons, and this branch was used in a national TV advertising campaign which you may recall.

Thank you for your comments and votes on Concrete Sheep for Sunday and to rontear for his UA.

Good image from the past, when greengrocers sold fresh fruit and vegetables. Now you have to go to a farm shop.
