Church Mystery

By mac
I was visiting this ancient church, and came on a vase with flowers sitting on an old wooden bench. What was intriguing was the two stones lying beside the flowers.
One had what looked a circle of barbed wire drawn on it. Somebody imprisoned or anything to do with the holocaust? I wondered what it was all about, but did not find anything further. Anybody any ideas, or is it just a mystery unsolved? Colour as well.

I would suggest that one has a Christian Cross….and the other represents the Crown of Thorns worn by the Crucified Christ….both powerful Christian Symbol’s .

All I could find is that the barbed wire is a sign of struggle. It also may be a reference to the crown of thorns worn by Christ. And, as Hobbo indicates the other stone does look like a cross.
It's an interesting photo in any case and I think I prefer the color version.
