Cinderella came North

By mrswoolybill
The usual questions come to mind of course. How did it happen? When did she notice? Why didn't she go back for it?
But the first thing that I thought was – who on earth goes hiking along a rough lane in Deepest Northumberland, wearing dainty black velour pumps?
Thanks for looking,
Moira

'Pumped Up'?

What sort of shoe has a loop in it for hanging up? They're pretty pointless in most clothes, even without the Dudler (TM) patent storage method of keeping clothes in carefully-sorted heaps.

Never look back. If Cinderella went back to pick up her shoe, she wouldn't have become a princess..

I've seen lots of abandoned underwear but you can make sense of that, but how do you lose one shoe?
Do you hobble home and wonder why you have suddenly developed a limp? Have you decided that a stroke must be the cause of your instability and the only course of action is to stagger to the nearest A&E? Maybe you are intoxicated to the degree that the shortening of one leg improves your gait, I need to know!!!

And as for ' But the first thing that I thought was – who on earth goes hiking along a rough lane in Deepest Northumberland, wearing dainty black velour pumps?' I have witnessed, first hand, a woman with a group of walkers atop a mountain in the Lake District sporting a pair of red high heel shoes! Of the stilletto type!!! And she was no spring chicken either, I can only assume they had carried her up there!Grin

Perhaps a one-legged person, and this dropped off their prosthetic leg, and they didn't feel a thing?

Probably she was more comfortable with out it, most likely rubbing her heal...or hisWink Prefer to tackle deepest Northumberland than the Primark Chafe!

Should it not be a glass slipper, but you might not have spotted it then?

So often I find myself writing, 'What John said!' and it's happened again. What is the point of a hanging loop in a shoe? As is so often often the case I'm baffled! I wouldn't be at all surprised if it belonged to my erstwhile associate Brigadier Archibald 'Ruby' Smirnoff, (Mrs), part time double agent and full time cross dresser (and I mean cross - laddered stockings provoked near murderous fury.) It is possible that this might have been a 'drop' perhaps intended for a certain Vladimir Wobblyball Hackett (Code name 'Feck'). I fear we shall never know. The last time I was contacted by 'Feck' he was heading for an East Coast port dressed in a sou'wester and smoking a pipe. I'll let you know if ever I see a likeness of him. 🕶 🕵️‍♂️ 🔎
A cracking image by the way!!! 😀
Yours, subject to being double crossed*, John le Carrierbag.
'Double crossed' - twice as angry as one might otherwise be. (Uxbridge English Dictionary) 🥴
