Cinema

By bliba
Since mid-March, the screens in Austrian cinemas have remained dark. As in many other industries, this causes enormous economic damage. Not only large cinema chains are suffering from the closure, but also cinemas from the so-called arthouse sector.
A return to normality will have its price. New rules of the game will determine our everyday life. What will this mean for culture?

From 29 May onwards, indoor and outdoor events for up to 100 people will be possible, provided that safety distances and the like are maintained. These are set events.
From 1 July until 250 persons and opening of the cinemas.
From 1 August up to 500 people. Up to 1000 people need a special prevention concept.

The day culture returns fully, we can say normality is back. Until then, we can but dream.

I do not think I have been at a cinema for quite a few years now, but might tempted once open again for the sheer novelty! It is when you do not have something you miss it the most. As far reading between the lines go, I fear we are months away from getting to the stage of them reopening.

"Normality" with different daily habits, simply is another way of life, unknown if it will be better or not. And it would be better not to change our way of life. Very beautiful photo, Oliver!

There is no such thing as normality; our perception of our changing surroundings remains.
