Cistus

By chase
A Cistus or Rock Rose from the garden, the flowers only last one day so you got to be quick !
I like the contrast between the papery petals & the golden centre.
Taken infront of my lightbox with daylight from the window.

ISO 100
Spot metering
Raw converted in C1 LE,curves adjusted, slight crop & border added in CS2.This time I added the gradient in Photoshop.

Thankyou for looking.

Nice shot, love the subtle background tones! Well taken!

Maybe would of worked better without the extra buds, but thats just my personal taste! Well done.

lovely Janet, I love the crinkly petals of these flowers. I have the dark one and I always think it looks a bit gaudy in a photo, this is really delicate,

I like the shot and it's nice to see colour in the background instead of white or black. Great border finishes it off..

I have some of these in my front yard. Very drought tolerant (no rain since late April and little expected until November!) and still great looking, as I can see right here. Excellent treatment of this familiar flower.

You have really caught the 'papery' effect of the petals in this shot. I have one of these but white and am often disappointed that the flowers don't last very long. At the moment my garden is littered in Jasmine blossom which again only seem to last a day or so before dropping but the smell is wonderful.

Lovely detail on the 'scrunchy'petals Janet.
The inclusion of the foliage enhances the composition and a nice touch of colour in the BG.
