City Trip

By flowerpower59
Many thanks to those who voted, commented and awarded my Blyth Pier shot and especially to the EPZ team for the HC award. I was delighted.

Parts of Newcastle city centre have changed beyond recognition in the last few years, some of it due to the expansion of the university and student accommodation. I put these three together because I was taken by the similarity in the colours and the vertical windows.

Yep, it works. Triptychs are much harder than a lot of people realise, they need three images that are strong individually but can combine to something greater than the sum of their parts. The key I think here is the diagonal shadow in the left hand frame, it adds weight to balance the angles on the right.
Glorious light. And you even have a tiny reflection of St James's Park, I think.
