Civita di Bagnoreggio

By skoffs
About midway between Orvieto and Bolsena, at the edge of Umbria, Civita is one of the most visually appealing of the hilltop villages in the Italian countryside. Civita is a dying village, with only about 15 residents remaining. The olive oil man is proudly showing off the Etruscan well recently discovered on his property. Pina dispenses political views and diet advice along with her excellent pizza. And Maria dishes out fractured geological history of the village to those who come to enjoy the panoramic view from her property for a Euro.
