On another site the other day some cheeky B*****D told me I did the best composite photos he'd ever seen......

This was done with a single Bowens fitted with a 8" reflector as main light, and a single speedlite behind.......seems a waste of time now...lol

It certainly wasn't a waste of time. I'm just starting to experiment with off-camera flash and appreciate the lighting in this shot. Thanks also for including the details of the lights and their position.

Yes, the subject comes across well but looking through your PF I can see this is your favourite type of shot - outdoors with some portable lighting!

It seems to me why this shot has attracted the comment

is I'm afraid pretty obvious - ...

Most of your other stuff has well illuminated BG's - this BG is a flat as a blackboard (I exaggerate of course for effect) - but If you look at it objectively, however well lit the subject, it emerges as a composite ???

Not necessarily a fault!!

y/n ??

Hi David......I'm useless at talking about my photos, I never know what to say, sorry. But I see your point with this one.

Hi Dave.....I pay Mel and Nina, as they have never let me down, Kate is the daughter of some friends and is happy with prints.I've had 7 late cancelations with TFCD this year and just 4 shoots since November.

Composite? Well, if you think it LOOKS like one, then not entirely sure that the person viewing knows too much about the creative process to make that image. I don't think I have ever, once, looked at your images and thought they look composed of more than one image......its just plain and simple good light, good balance, nice timing and lovely models. All good work, simple. Love this shot. Works perfectly....ignore the cheek.....
