Clementine Rose

By chase
An Aquilegia vulgaris whose name is Clementine Rose.
I saw this & a white variety at my local garden centre & really...who could resist?
The flowers are quite small, about 1" across & each stem bears many flowers.
Another name for these types of Aquilegia is 'Granny's Bonnet'
Taken against a piece of white muslin using daylight.

F22 manual mode
20 secs with tripod
ISO 100
Spot Metering
Raw converted in CS2,curves adjusted, slight crop & border added.

As always, larger is worth a look,if you can.

Thankyou for looking.
Janet

It's like a ballad dancer, throwing arm and legs in every direction. Think I'm drawn to spiky flowers because they are so dynamic. Well captured.

Janet,
Can this flower be grown in the garden ?
I admire the lighting and of course the presentation.
If this does not receive the Editor's Award dont worry as it has been given the RSG-M TIP-TOP Award .

Thankyou all.

Rob..yes these are grown in the garden & they seed everywhere,I bought this & a white one, they are now firmly planted. If I can manage to save some seed at the end of the flowering I will gladly send you some, although I have my doubts that they will come true as these plants are very promiscuous !Thanks for the special award too.
