Closer still

By rdown
This is the same caterpillar uploaded yesterday but using a different lens. This time I used a SOM Berthiot 25mm cine lens reverse mounted on a home made adapter. As you may have gathered I love playing around making lenses fit all sorts of cameras. I hate spending money on expensive kit, these lenses cost me just a few pounds from bootfairs etc + some time of course.

Wow, that is close! Terrific shot. How clever to produce your own kit. Just looked at yesterday's shot and it's absolutely super. I have an E500 but haven't got a macro lens yet. Thinking of getting a Sigma 105mm.

Thank you once more for comments /clicks, seeing the quality of portfolios on ephotozine is really helping me develop. Peter the huge advantage of the E500 and other Olympus 4/3 cameras is that by using adapters you can fit lenses from a vast range of camera manufacturers including Nikon, Leica, Contax/Yashica, Olympus OM, Pentax K and 42mm screw. OK you lose auto focus and auto aperture but you soon adapt. I have bought OM, K and 42mm adapters from chinese sources on ebay without problems. My favourite macro is a Vivitar 100mm with Olympus OM fitting that I bought on ebay for about 50 it is superb. I do have a Sigma 90mm auto everything I use with a Minolta 35mm camera. It also produces excellent results. I've yet to find/make an adapter to try it on the E500 though. Hope some of this helps. Robert
