Cloud over Burbage Edge

By DalesLass
Taken on an outing yesterday evening, which was primarily about the sunset only that didn't really happen. Not to worry I enjoyed the evening and there were some very nice clouds around.

Many thanks for looking,

Jude

PS I've taken advice on the 'definition/drama' (thanks Nathan and Billy)in the sky and pumped it up a bit in V2 ~ what does anyone think?

A stunning rugged landscape photographed so very well with both interest and quality throughout. "May be a little more definition in the sky perhaps?"

Excellent capture of last nights dramatic clouds Judith. I was up on Higger tor looking over the Hope valley i agree that the sky could be printed in a bit more so it's V2 for me, i could up load a mod if you allow me to.

I like them both Trevor perhaps the first more so but I also think the extra contrast works too. I'll have another try with the original tomorrow.....

Yeah its always difficult to choose but it's the one that you feel happy with which reflects the moment the best, i also prefer the first one which brings out the grittiness of the rocks but on reflection does not emphasize the sky as much as your V2 does. Good luck !!.

I like very much your own V2 Jude - it makes quite a difference to the sky.
A lovely landscape which has converted weel to mono.

Partly, it's being there: and partly, it's showing it as you saw it (or, maybe, slightly better than you saw it!)

I'm with Trevor - the sort of shot you can spend a good while on perfecting: and possibly slightly easier to do in the darkroom, where burning-in and dodging are so much more intuitive - using hte shape of your hands to define the area, instead of a symmetrical blob!
