I am in full agreement with Mal - both are excellent photos Carol !! Is it age or wear that causes the black to come on the wings or should they look like that ? Just wondering !!

V1 is a real stunner Carol, i've yet to see this extremely rare migrant in the UK. Lucky you seeing insects all year round, I hardly see anything in the winter save a solitary spider or odd bee that emerges when we have a rare warmish sunny winters day.
