Great conversion mate, sits very well, some images just need that. If I was to be critical, if you had this for sale I would clone the rocks bottom right but for us and compotition leave alone as they ate to be there. I would still have given my award both ways as I said sits very well mate. Was great to talk the other day.

You often like to place the horizon across the middle of the frame, and a square crop often supports that rather better than landscape or portrait... so although my usual preference is for horizons to be placed higher, the central placement works for me here.
I'm less convinced by the mono conversion. You've a lot of unrelieved mid-tone there, and if it wasn't for those foreground rocks the whole thing could look very flat ( that can work, but I'm not sure it would here )... so don't be persuaded to remove them, their placement hints at a third dimension that mitigates the flatness. The slightly darker tonality around them helps too.
All the same, it's just not really touching me at all, and I can't help feeling it might just work better in colour.
Just my personal opinion of course, for what it's worth, and you'd get a more varied and detailed critique if you uploaded to the Critique Gallery, which could be very helpful. But maybe you wouldn't want to do that...
